FLY & DRIVE: Sardinia departing from Olbia

Arrival at Olbia Airport. Check-in at the hotel in the Olbia area. Afternoon visit to Olbia. Walk through the city founded in the seventh century by the Carthaginians, visit the Basilica of San Simplicio and the Castello di Paulazza. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car to Palau, ferry to the island of La Maddalena, part of the archipelago of the same name. Then continue to the island of Caprera, visit the house-museum of the Italian national hero Giuseppe Garibaldi. Scenic drive along the coast. Free time in the historic center of La Maddalena. Return to Palau and subsequent transfer to the Costa Smeralda. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Free dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by car to Santa Teresa di Gallura. Ferry to Bonifacio, the most Italian part of Corsica, famous for its spectacular limestone cliffs. Walk around the port area and visit the Ville Haute district, with its historic center dominated by the monumental citadel, the church of Sainte-Marie Majeure with its characteristic square bell tower, and the King of Aragon's Staircase with its 187 steps leading directly to the sea. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Free dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the medieval village of Castelsardo, located on a rocky promontory. A walk through the town with visits to the cathedral and castle. Transfer to Sassari, the second-largest city in Sardinia. Walk through the city, visiting one of the island's most beautiful cathedrals. Later, transfer to Alghero, a small town known as "Barceloneta," famous for its coral and delicious products. Walk through the old town, which features original Catalan-Gothic architecture. Transfer to the hotel in the Oristano area. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Self-transfer by car to Pozzo Santa Cristina, an ancient religious ritual site that is 3000 years old. Head towards Barumini, one of the best-preserved complexes from the Nuragic period, Su Nuraxi, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the hotel. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Self-transfer by car to the Sinis Peninsula, to the picturesque town of Tharros, founded by the Carthaginians, where you can see the best-preserved Roman walls in Sardinia. Later, transfer to the heart of Sardinia, to the mysterious and wild region of Barbagia. Drive to Orgosolo, a town beautifully situated in the Gennargentu Mountains, once known as "the bandit capital" and famous for its murals—paintings on building facades. A typical shepherd’s dinner with Sardinian cuisine. Transfer to the hotel in the Olbia area. Dinner on your own and overnight stay.
